Money Making Ideas for Kids

by GuestPoster

Are your kids wanting an increase in their allowance all of the time or do you think that they need to learn more about money?  Having them work to get the money is a great idea!  I am not advocating child labor, but instead, something that the child would like to do and make some money from it.  There are many ideas for kids to be able to make some extra money, and so I will share with you a few of those great money making ideas.

Food and Crafts

The first idea is for your child to make some food or serve some drinks.  A lemonade stand is the perfect idea if you have the right kind of neighborhood for it, and on a hot, summer day.  Another great idea is for them to help make some baked goods and sell those to neighbors and such.  Kids can also make some cool crafts that they can sell to their friends or other people.  Necklaces, bracelets, and stuff like that are great ideas.  They can also make cool picture frames by buying soem cheap frames and adding their own decorations to them.  Let your child be creative and be rewarded monetarily for their creativity.

Yardwork/Housework

Do your kids like to rake leaves?  Well, there’s many neighbors who probably need their leaves raked and so your kids can do  that for them and make a little extra money.  Any type of yardwork is a good kids money making idea.  As long as they are able to do it, they’ll be able to make some extra cash during almost every season, whether it’s shoveling snow, raking leaves, or mowing the lawn.

The best way to teach a child about the value of money is to have them earn some for themselves.  You’ll see them be a bit wiser with their choices of purchases as well as take care of the stuff they bought with their hard earn money.
