If there is one truth about life and work, it is in order to be happy, you must do what you love or learn to love what you do. This is a lot easier said than done of course. How many of us have hobbies that we would be ecstatic to be able to earn residual income from? The reason why most people don’t even consider making their hobby or passion their career or business is because they don’t think there’s any money in it. This is understandable though. I mean, look around you. How many “starving musicians” do you see? How many artists sell their work in the streets?
Although it would be nice for all of us to be able to do what we love, the reality is, not every hobby that people have is able to produce a lot of money. So what is the solution here? Since life is so short, how do we set ourselves up to be able to enjoy working on our hobbies without having to worry about money? The answer is to generate residual income. This is income that comes in on an ongoing basis from work you did some time in the past. There are many ways to do this such as starting a business and setting up a system where you can just hire people to run it for you. You can also write a book or a song and earn royalties off of it.
The goal is to find something that you can work on to build up this type of income, enough to pay all of your monthly expenses. Once you get to that point, you will be able to spend all of your time on your hobbies. Think about how life would be then? Learn all you can about earning this type of income and set yourself free.
